Look who is here!!!
My honey made it London
on the first flight he was listed on.
His first experience non-reving alone.
After I met him at the London's Heathrow and we dropped his luggage at our hotel, we went to the university and had lunch with Michele and some of her group. After showing him around a bit and saying our goodbyes, we got all my things and headed to our hotel to begin our 2nd honeymoon. Thistle Hyde Park Hotel is our first stop. After settling in, we began our "hop on hop off" bus tour of London. Yes, we are on the top deck of a red double decker bus. The guide was wonderful and we saw so much and learned a lot too.
Below is a statue in honor of horses
who have died in battles.
Really an awesome sight.
Treasury Building of London.
Winston Churchill was known to got to go out
at night to the top and watch bombings
during WWII
Parliament
King Richard-The Lion Hearted
Boadicea and her daughters-
Queen of the Celtic Iceni tribe
who lead an uprising in Roman Britain
Gifted to Queen Victoria.
Very impressive to see
Big Ben is having restoration done.
So sad not to see or hear it.
The clock face can be seen
but the ring is disconnected for now.
St. Paul's Cathedral
The Tower Bridge
An original piece of the wall the Romans built
around London in 200AD! I find that
just amazing that it is still there...
and we saw it.
Looks like Jethro has a place in London LOL
After the bus tour we found our way on the
underground to The Hard Rock Cafe.
London's Hard Rock is the first one
and began in 1971 by 2 Americans
who visited London often and
couldn't find a good burger,
so they opened their own place.
This is the guitar that started all
-Eric Clapton
And the 2nd-
Peter Townsend
I have been collecting guitar pins from
Hard Rocks for about 25 years.
So excited to have one from the original.
