May Yardwork

The beautiful weather has led to more projects.

After 3 years, we are making additions to the landscape.

It's a lot of work, but it's a good feeling to work in the sun.

The when it is done, we can relax in the front yard swing.

April ends and May begins

We took a road trip to the metroplex
for the first time since February 25!
#3 Grandchild (#1 Granddaughter)
had her 12th birthday.
Celebration was being done by
writing in the driveway!

2 hours on the road was well worth
 the hugs we got too!

The end of the week brought these cuties
for a sleep over! Hallelujah!!
Their energy, laughter and love
was well needed.

My cup runneth over.

This morning as I was reflecting on my blessings
and enjoying the morning sun and sounds,
I looked down at my spearmint plant......
Do you see it?

Well hello there :)

April 2020 is complete

A "shelter in place" project.
It began March 20 as a small idea

and it grew as time went on...

and on.....

and on.....

We drove local country roads
picking up loose rocks.

Some pretty unique finds

And some wild flower picking too

It finally ended at the corner of our property
with a beautiful lantana bush.

The entire month of April 2020
was one for the history books for sure.
Each time we look out
and see the wall,
it remind us of "that crazy time".
Yes, it was crazy
-stressful-different-happy-sweet times-
and forever changing.
The month of May brings
May flowers

and the world opening back up.
Tiny steps for sure,
for my honey and I.
We will be cautious but not afraid.
After all, we know who really has control.

Our Father in Heaven.

Memories in the Making

Day 30
brings Theodore's adventures to a close.

What a wonderful joy
this bear has brought to so many.
Sad to see it end, but thankful for the
many blessing his adventures have brought.
We met many neighbors who were quick
to thank us for the smiles of this simple gesture.
A big "Thank You" to my honey.
He was the mastermind.
I was just as excited as the kids to awake each
morning to find what Theodore was up to that day.

Now, as he naps,
perhaps thinking of all the fun he had
or maybe future adventures....

We say farewell to Theodore

This was our contribution during
"Shelter in Place"
I see God's hand in so much. Especially now.

Families having quality time together.

Neighbors caring for neighbors.

Communities reaching out.

Everyone slowing down and having a "reset".

Eating at the table together.

Creating and accomplishing projects.

Getting closer to your God.

This a trying time for sure. I am concerned every day with the situation as we move forward. There are reminders of similar times in history. This is one for the history books and the conclusion is still unknown. But as for me and my house, we have faith in the Lord. This too shall pass and we will be the stronger for it. I hope you are fairing well and will rise from this with a renewed spirit. Yes, there will be sadness and despair.
What challenge comes without that?
 However,
Faith, Hope and Love
will be our weapons.

Each day of "Shelter in Place"
Theodore has a new adventure

from young and old.
Everyday drivers stop for pictures,
kids and adults walking stop for pictures.
Everyone seems to enjoy

Easter 2020....with a telephoto lens

Sunday morning breakfast
has been the same during this
thing called "shelter in place".
However, attending church is definitely different.
Watching on a screen and
to only hear ourselves singing.
I feel sorry for my honey, since I do not
have the gift of music in any way.
But I still sing and make a joyful noise :)
This, our 3rd Sunday service
from the dining room table.

Easter Sunday

No new dress, no special lunch after,
no family gathering,
no egg hunt with the grands.
But the MOST important thing of all
is exactly the same-if not more pronounced-
Worship.
Being thankful for the resurrection.
Recognizing God's infinite wisdom.
I feel this Easter Sunday is actually special.
Feeling the true spirit without any
distractions or outside influence.
Could it be God's plan? Absolutely.

Theodore and Ester
enjoyed the beautiful day.

A few days ago as I was cleaning out (yet another) closet, I found the plastic eggs I use for the grands.
My honey and I hatched an idea.
We filled the eggs with what we had available,
which was money and very little candy.
Since 2 of our grands (#6 and #9)
live 5 minutes from our house,
we made a surprise egg hunt happen.
The squeals of excitement
was music to our ears.
Smiles were everywhere
as the fun began!

We visited at a distance.

The sound of this sweet family could not compare to the warmth of a hug, but it will do...
for now.

When we returned home,
we enjoyed phone calls
from other family members.
I am so thankful for technology to
allow us the joy of hearing voices
from hundreds of miles away.
And, oh how wonderful "facetime" is.

My cup runneth over
