Vacation 2019 Day 4

Day 4..Back on the ferry to Nassau.
Beautiful day..84 degrees and sunny

We walked a total of 5.18 miles today, a lot of that was uphill as we made our way to some historical sights. First, the Queen's Staircase.
Completed in 1794 by hand and named after Queen Victoria. 66 steps and 102 feet high.
We took the steps from top to bottom-thank goodness. It was a very hot humid day.

Right next to the staircase is Fort Fincastle.

Dave went up top to see more of the fort and get some great photos.

I spied him at the top!

Then back down the hill to Bay Street and the dock.

Loved this street sign in a park.

Warwick had a barbecue on the beach so very casual evening. We enjoyed dinner and relaxed in one of our favorite spots before turning in early today.

Vacation 2019 Day 3

Day 3 was focused on relaxing.
After breakfast we spent the day at the pool.
We swam. I did some reading. We enjoyed various frozen drinks, walked along the beach and just relaxed under the big umbrella.

Vacation 2019 Nassau Bahamas Day 1 & 2

Flying was a new experience for us because we had confirmed seats from American Airlines AAvantage mileage. No STANDBY on this trip! We got to DFW and boarded the aircraft when our group was called - just like that!
3 hours later we landed in Nassau Bahamas

We arrived Monday-May 27th to
Warwick on Paradise Island.
An all inclusive (adults only) resort.

Tuesday, after a delicious breakfast, we walked to the ferry dock for the ride across the bay to Nassau.

Our Captain and crew were entertaining and informative. It was a short boat ride of about 20min.

This is a floating bungalow seen in James Bond movies, Thunderball and Never Say Never.

We went by cruise ships in port and enjoyed all the sights

A short walk from the dock was our first stop....yep, you guessed it. Harley Davidson....then Hard Rock Cafe.
New shirts and a guitar pin!

We did what we do...explored! A little shopping and a lot of photo ops :)

We made our way to the Pirate Museum. There is a lot of history here and we LOVE HISTORY.

There were even female pirates. Anne Bonny for one.

As we made our way back to the dock, we came across this beautiful church built in 1670. very impressive

The Governor's House

Beautiful flowering trees

Day 2 ended with a wonderful Italian dinner, a cocktail and a walk on the beach.
