Making Memories

I take advantage as often as I can to spend time with my kids. Today my daughter ask me to come over and spend the day baking, decorating and
watching Christmas movies.
Some of my FAVORITE things
to do with some of my favorite people.

Jefferson is a great little helper.
Some would say it is too early for decorations, but this is the happiest time of the year for us.

A great day
for which I am so thankful
to be so blessed

Veterans Day 2019

I begin by saying thank you to all who walk the line and serve our country. Past and Present
Especially my Daddy....

My thanks is also extended to the
veterans who fought in the Civil War.
I am southern, born and bred for generations.
I respect everyone's heritage and
I hope mine can be respected as well.
It saddens me that some want to erase history.
 I have generations of family
that have worn a uniform
and fought since the American Revolution.
All volunteered
I myself, served in the US Navy.
I feel all deserve thanks and respect.
I salute them all.

This Veteran's Day began with a late breakfast
and a temperature of 63.
By noon it was 45
My honey took me to the movies and when we came out it was 31 and snow flurries!!!!
Crazy Texas Weather.
By the way, the theater covered our tickets as a veteran thanks. First time ever.

We purchased some dog beds and
took them to our local humane society.
There will be at least 2 animals warm tonight.
The wind is right out of the north
and the temp is still dropping.

A perfect night for my honey to fix chili.

A wonderful day.

For the First Time

My big brother....who happens to be my only sibling..and his lovely bride,
came for an overnight visit!
It was an overdue celebration for their
50th Wedding Anniversary.

My honey and I took them on a sightseeing tour of our little Texas Town-Stephenville.
That didn't take long :)

Check out my favorite cross-street.

My brother's name is Billy Dale! I have always called him Dale. I just love it!

We visited the City Park to see the traveling
"Wall that Heals"
It is in town for Veteran's Day.
Very impressive

We dressed and left for Granbury- 6P reservations for dinner at 1890.
Our favorite "celebration restaurant

This is my sister....in love. My brother gave her to me when I was 11 years old.

Dinner was so wonderful.
The food. The atmosphere.
Most of all the company.

The night was beautiful.
Such a blessing to spend time with these 2.

Sunday morning we enjoyed time together over a late breakfast. Laughing and just catching up on so much. Hey there was a double yoked egg.
Now that is a good sign....

They left all too soon. But we made great memories....till the next time.

Ladies night at Harvey Baptist Church

I attended a "painting party" for the first time.
So fun.

The stencil for my project was made on a Cricut.
Just so happens, I got one 2 weeks ago.
I am still learning about it, but expect a lot more
projects to be shared.

A tribute to a dear companion

We said goodbye to our little man, Mr. Bear.

He started out as Michele's companion in 2007 then became mine in 2013.
Full of personality, this little guy was the best companion anyone could ask for.
He followed either me or Dave-everywhere.
He loved his very own little couch.
He loved his Truvy girl.

He would eat ANYTHING. If you dropped any food on the floor, just tap your toe and Bear would clean it up for you. He was fierce about his bowl...no joking about that.

When he began to have issued eating,
we knew something was wrong.
At the age of 12 (84 in human years)
he had many serious problems
that called him to the rainbow bridge

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Farewell dear companion....
you are in good hands.

October 2019 comes to an end

A visit to the local pumpkin patch with
Jefferson's class

A commendation to a Confederate Veteran..

Such a great show of honor...
The Sons of Confederate Veterans and the
United Daughters of the Confederacy
gave support. History of the soldier was shared and I found it all so interesting.
See that handsome man on the far left....
yes, my honey has joined and
is an active member of
Camp 1904 of the
Sons of Confederate Veterans.

By Gone Days and a visit from Paula

A beautiful weekend in north central Texas.
Fall was in full swing which includes a festival almost every weekend. This is our 3rd time to visit By Gone Days, held at the Stephenville Museum. This one was by far the best one yet.
Paula was here for a visit which
made it even more enjoyable

We met the lovely ladies of
The United Daughters of the Confederacy

A sweet lady handmade baskets. She custom made an egg basket that now is on my kitchen counter and an herb basket hanging in the twin room.

A beautiful windmill
They were a big part of the country life

My honey found this tractor...
just like the one on Green Acres

The Sons of Confederate Veterans were present.

A VERY small cabin that housed a family of 10!

Behind this sweet couple is the oldest house in Erath County. Built in 1867

He makes me laugh...

Next our schedule for the day was Amy Kay's last soccer game of the season.

Then a concert on the museum grounds....
Michael Martin Murphey

Excellent music

A great weekend has to include cards!!
